Pray with... Our Lady of Guadalupe
Our Lady of Guadalupe is an apparition of the Blessed Virgin to Juan Diego on a hill outside of modern day Mexico City. When she appeared to Juan Diego, he went to the archbishop to share his experience. The archbishop asked for a sign, and Our Lady obliged by directing Juan Diego to collect roses in his cloak. When he spilled the roses before the archbishop, a miraculous image of the Virgin was revealed on the fabric.
Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patron of the Americas, so she's very special to us as America's Catholic Television Network®. Her appearance in the Americas shows her great desire to be Christ's light to this side of the world. She also imparted to us a visual representation of herself, showing she understands the value of media as tool for prayer and faithbuilding. We hope that with her help, we too can be Christ's light to this side of the world.
Will you pray the Memorare with us for our intentions, that we might bring the light of the Gospel to as many people as possible?
Remember, O Most Gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known,
that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help,
or sought your intercession
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
we fly unto you,
O Virgin of virgins, Our Mother.
To you do we come, before you we stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not our petitions,
but in your mercy, hear and answer us.
