As our tumultuous election cycle in the United States draws to a close, we have a special responsibility as Catholics to promote peace, understanding, and tolerance in response to whatever results the election gives us. In this spirit, we invite you to pray a novena for tolerance with us, beginning today, Election Day, and ending on the International Day for Tolerance, November 16.

The Rosary is a powerful prayer that invites us to meditate on the mysteries of our faith. Reciting this prayer earnestly and often is a popular devotion among the faithful. Our Lady herself has reminded us to pray the Rosary frequently: Our Lady of Fatima told Sister Lucia de Jesus dos Santos, “Continue to pray the Rosary every day.”

Monday, October 10 marks World Homeless Day, an annual observance that promotes awareness and advocacy for issues related to homelessness. For us as Catholics, it is especially important to recognize World Homeless Day during this year, the Jubilee Year of Mercy.

Saturday, October 1 marks the feast day of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, a 19th-century Carmelite nun and the patroness of CatholicTV. St. Thérèse is recognized as a Doctor of the Church, and she is one of the most well-known saints of recent times. She is also called the Little Flower and St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face.

This week, the heart of St. Padre Pio is visiting the Archdiocese of Boston, marking the first time a major relic of the saint has left Italy. Catholics in the Archdiocese are thrilled to have the opportunity to venerate a relic of this saint of modern times.

It takes the talents of many different people to put together the Telethon each year. A lot of planning and preparation happens beforehand, and the two days of the Telethon itself are a whirlwind of excitement. We spoke to some of our CatholicTV personalities, who shared their favorite Telethon memories, both on and off camera.

Telethon gives us a chance each year to step back and reflect on everything that has happened since the last Telethon. This year is especially nostalgic for us here at CatholicTV as we celebrate 25 years of Telethon. We took a look back at some of our favorite Telethon moments over the years. Here are our top 5:

As of August 24, the Archdiocese of Boston is blessed to have two new auxiliary bishops: Bishop Mark O’Connell and CatholicTV’s own Bishop Robert Reed. As modern-day successors of Jesus’s Twelve Apostles, bishops have a big job. That job is always changing and evolving to meet the needs of the Church and the bishop’s specific diocese. In particular, auxiliary bishops are called to take on the duties assigned to them by the Ordinary.

Here at CatholicTV, we are eagerly preparing for the August 24 Mass of Ordination for Bishop-elect Mark O’Connell and our own Bishop-elect Robert Reed as Auxiliary Bishops of Boston. The Archdiocese of Boston will be blessed to have these two devoted servants of God assisting Cardinal Seán O’Malley in their new roles as Auxiliary Bishops. Those roles are certain to be busy ones, but fortunately, for Bishop-elect Reed, that will include staying on at CatholicTV.
