The sixth word is from John 19:30: It is finished.
The seventh word is from Luke 23:46: Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.
Again, Jesus is talking directly to His Father. His use of the word “Father” is reminiscent of my reflection on the first word, so if you forgot what I said, just reread the first word.
The second word is from Luke 23:43: Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.
Father Hannon passed away 10 days ago, and we're really missing him here at CatholicTV. He has been celebrating Mass with us for over 30 years and has brightened our lives for all that time. His funeral was celebrated on Friday across the street at St Patrick's in Watertown.

This past Sunday, the Third Sunday of Advent, we took a moment to celebrate the hope and joy of the coming birth of Christ during the normally penitential season of Advent. The rose-colored candle, lit for Gaudete Sunday, represents this joy. Yet, we still have a long way to go before the celebration of Christmas begins, especially during this year’s long Advent season—and we return to a final purple candle next Sunday.
