WATERTOWN, MASS. (July 29, 2016) – This morning, Father George Zebrowski celebrated the daily Catholic Mass in the Chapel of the Holy Cross at CatholicTV’s Watertown studios.
Father Zebrowski is the pastor of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish in Boston. The parish, which was dedicated in 1894, was established to serve the needs of Polish Catholic immigrants in the Boston area. Today, Our Lady of Czestochowa offers Masses in both Polish and English. According to the parish bulletin, its mission is “to bear witness to our Roman Catholic faith and our Polish heritage. We strive to continue to serve God and each other, celebrating and sharing our Polish traditions, welcoming and reaching out to all people.”
Father Zebrowski has served as the pastor of Our Lady of Czestochowa since 2015. This morning’s Mass was his first time celebrating Mass on CatholicTV. Several of his Polish-American parishioners were in attendance. In his homily, Father Zebrowksi emphasized that “Poland is a special, special country … the history is so rich.” The full homily can be found here.
This celebration of the Mass coincides with World Youth Day, which is currently taking place in Kraków, Poland. This year, World Youth Day returned to the home country of its founder, St. John Paul II. Our Lady of Czestochowa sent a group of pilgrims to Poland for the event. Speaking of that group and the other pilgrims from around the globe, Father Zebrowski said that they “tell the world that there is love and unity, there is joy, and Jesus is their answer.” To follow CatholicTV’s coverage of World Youth Day, please visit PopeFrancisinPoland.com.
The Mass will re-air tonight at 7 & 11:30 pm ET. On-demand viewing of this program can be found any time at http://catholictv.com/shows/daily-mass.
