February 27, 2015, WATERTOWN, Mass. - On Thursday, February 26th, CatholicTV and the rest of the world said goodbye to former president of Notre Dame, priest of the Congregation of Holy Cross, and one of the most influential people in higher education,  Father Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C.  For years, CatholicTV has been blessed to have a partnership with the University of Notre Dame and to carry their weekly Mass. In order to show our greatest gratitude to Fr. Hesburgh and the community of Notre Dame, CatholicTV will air, “God, Country, Notre Dame: The Story of Father Ted Hesburgh C.S.C.”. The film, produced by Family Theater, will take a look into his life, accomplishments and his 35 years as president of Notre Dame.

Among the plethora of Fr. Hesburgh’s outstanding accomplishments he has served through 16 U.S. presidential appointments, held charter membership of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, was a member of Gerald Ford’s Presidential Clemency Board, a board member of the Overseas Development Council and has received 150 honorary awards. He has also served four Popes in his lifetime, three of which he served as a permanent Vatican City representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. For more information on Fr. Hesburgh, please visit: http://hesburgh.nd.edu/.

The countless acts of influence, charity and positive change that Fr. Hesburgh has brought to the Catholic and secular world is beyond noted at CatholicTV and Family Theater Productions. Sharing this film is just one way of showing appreciation for his contributions. CatholicTV prays for Fr. Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C. and the eternal rest of his soul.
