The CatholicTV Network Launches on Opelika Power Services

Watertown, MA  (July 7, 2014) – The CatholicTV Network has launched on channel 161 on Opelika Power Services in Opelika (AL).

The Catholic Network offers a robust program schedule including original programs and programming from Catholic (arch)dioceses throughout the US and from national and international ministries and production companies. Papal programming from the Vatican is aired live with several re-broadcasts.

Established as a television apostolate in the Archdiocese of Boston in 1955 CatholicTV is the first Catholic television station in the world.

 WATERTOWN, MA (July 3, 2014) – Winners of the 35th Annual Telly Awards have been announced and CatholicTV has been recognized with both judged and People’s Telly awards.

 The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring the finest film and video productions, groundbreaking web commercials, videos and films, and outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs. The 35th Annual Telly Awards received over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.

The CatholicTV Network to Air Pallium Mass on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul

WATERTOWN, MA (June 24,2014) On June 29, the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, Pope Francis will impose the pallium, a thin strip of white wool, emblazoned with six black crosses, on newly appointed archbishops. The pallium is a liturgical vestment worn by a metropolitan archbishop demonstrating his metropolitan authority and unity with the See of Peter. The Mass and imposition will air on LIVE on CatholicTV Saturday June 29th, at 3:30 AM ET re-airing at noon and 8 PM.

The CatholicTV Network to air Coverage of the USCCB Spring General Assembly

WATERTOWN, MA (June 10, 2014) The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will meet June 11-13, in New Orleans, for their annual Spring General Assembly. The opening Mass of the June general session will be celebrated by Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, USCCB president, at the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis.

WATERTOWN, MA (June 5, 2014) The CatholicTV Network will broadcast the Pentecost Vigil Mass with Cardinal Seán O'Malley live from the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston, MA on June 7, 2014 at 4PM ET.

The Pentecost Mass will rebroadcast on The CatholicTV Network at 11PM ET on June 7, and at 8PM on Sunday June 8. The Pentecost Vigil Mass will air on CatholicTV and CatholicTV.com.

Coverage of Pope Francis’ Apostolic Journey to the Holy Land to Air on The CatholicTV Network

Beginning on Saturday, May 24th, 2014, the CatholicTV Network will air coverage of the apostolic journey of Pope Francis to the Holy Land. The coverage will air from May 24 to May 26, 2014. The Pope makes this historic journey with Rabbi Abraham Skorka and Islamic studies professor Omar Abboud, his friends from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
