WATERTOWN, MA (February 5, 2014) Pope Francis has appointed the Most Rev. Robert P. Deeley, J.C.D., Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Boston, as the 12th Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, Maine.

Bishop Deeley’s Installation Mass will be Friday, February 14, 2014, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland. The CatholicTV Network will broadcast the Mass live at 1:30PM ET. The Installation Mass will be broadcast on CatholicTV and CatholicTV.com.

Ecumenical Prayer for the Martyrs Available on CatholicTV.com

WATERTOWN, MA (January 30, 2014) The Boston Archdiocesan Office for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs and the Community of Sant’Egidio, organized an ecumenical prayer service in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity on January 25, 2014.

The event, “An Ecumenical Prayer for the Martyrs in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity” took place at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Religious leaders and members of the community joined in remembrance and solidarity around the Christians who have fallen before recent religious persecution globally.

WATERTOWN, MA (January 14, 2014) The CatholicTV Network will broadcast coverage of the March for Life 2014 in Washington, D.C.

Cardinal Seán O’Malley will lead a group of more than 750 young adults from the Archdiocese of Boston to Washington, DC for the 40th annual March for Life on January 22, 2014.  This is the largest number of attendees sent from the Archdiocese.
