The Prayer of Saint Bonaventure

Let Us Pray

St. Bonaventure was born in Italy in 1221 and grew up to be a Doctor of the Church. He was well known through his life for his teaching, writing, preaching, good character, and ability to help those in conflict reconcile. He was also great friends with St. Thomas Aquinas. Even with his intelligence, he emphasized grace over reason to help himself and others in relationship with God. St. Bonaventure had a great love for the Eucharist, which was captured in this prayer that he wrote.
